External Quality Assurance Helps Improve Infrastructure for Testing Breast Biomarkers Across a Lower- and Middle-Income Country: Our Experience With Breast Biomarker Testing in the National Cancer Grid External Quality Assurance System in India
CONCLUSIONS.—: Our experience demonstrates that laboratory performances improve with participation in an EQA system even in less perfect settings, and this drives the placement of more proficient practices across the country.PMID:38153249 | DOI:10.5858/arpa.2023-0260-OA (Source: Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine)

C3d Immunohistochemical Staining on Paraffin-Embedded Tissue for Diagnosis of Pemphigus
CONCLUSIONS.—: Our study indicated that C3d-IHC results for paraffin-fixed tissues were not significantly different from DIF results for the diagnosis of pemphigus. The C3d-IHC assay has the potential for routine diagnosis of pemphigus, especially in the absence of fresh-frozen tissue.PMID:38149406 | DOI:10.5858/arpa.2023-0274-OA (Source: Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine)

Stromal and Epithelial Architectural Alterations Mimicking Invasion (Pseudoinvasion) in Noninvasive Papillary Urothelial Carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS.—: Given the correlation with size and presence of infarcted papillae, we suggest the possibility of tumor ischemia/infarction as a plausible etiology of pseudoinvasion. Awareness of this phenomenon is important for the accurate diagnosis of invasion in papillary urothelial carcinoma.PMID:38133938 | DOI:10.5858/arpa.2023-0185-OA (Source: Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine)
