Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe reform of derogatory access authorisations (DAs) on 1st July 2021 has distorted the routine of the hospital pharmacists dealing with innovative medicines that are waiting for marketing authorization or approval. There are two distinct categories of DAs: Compassionate Access Authorisations (CAAs) are granted by the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM) while Early Access Authorisations (EAPs) are granted at the request of pharmaceutical companies by the French National Authority for Healt...

Overview of hospital city repay for paediatric preparations initiated within the marseille public university hospital system
Conclusions : The lack of clear and complete hospital prescriptions makes it difficult to carry out treatment initiated in hospital in the outpatient setting. The multiplicity of information systems between hospitals and outpatient settings are obstacles to the interoperability needed to coordinate patient treatment, particularly in paediatrics.. The quality of discharge prescriptions needs to be improved to optimise the patient care pathway.PMID:38387835 | DOI:10.1016/j.pharma.2024.02.009 (Source: Annales Pharmaceutiques Francaises)

Evaluation of pharmaceutical practice in hospitals: an exploratory study comparing processes in France and Quebec
CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the evaluation processes of pharmaceutical practice in hospitals. In France as in Quebec, we recognize the importance of the drug circuit in the hospital, the development and operation of a pharmacy department and the practice of pharmacy. While there are more similarities for the assessment of the drug circuit in hospitals and pharmacy department, important differences are observed for the assessment of individuals. We believe that the publication of a comparative analysis can contribute to discussions and exchanges to benefit from the best practices of each country.PMID:38367934 | DOI:1...

Antioxidant and Anti-Arthritic Activity of Bombax buonopozense P. Beauv. Leaves
CONCLUSION: Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, and phenolics. The brine shrimp lethality assay of the crude extract and fractions gave LC50 value ≥ 1000 µg/mL, compared to Cyclophosphamide (LC50 = 224.7±0.35µg/mL). The BBME had TPC value of 19.8±0.56 mg GAE/g, while the TFC of ethyl acetate fraction was the highest (173.5±0.05 mg QE/g). The ethyl acetate fraction has the highest antioxidant activity (IC50 = 20.96±0.23 µg/mL) as compared to ascorbic acid (2.8±0.01) and rutin (20.6±9.26 µg/mL). BBME significantly reduced the paw circumference. BBME (400 mg/kg) prevented bioche...

Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBreast cancer (BC) is the most prevalent malignancy in women and the second most common disease worldwide, affecting approximately one million individuals annually. Despite the efficacy of conventional chemotherapy, medication resistance and adverse effects limit its effectiveness, leading researchers to explore alternative treatments, including herbal remedies. Saffron, a well-known spice derived from the Crocus sativus L. plant, has shown potential as a BC treatment. The active components of saffron exhibit a...
