Immunomodulatory treatment vs. systemic steroids in inflammatory choroidal neovascularization secondary to idiopathic multifocal choroiditis
Inflammatory Choroidal Neovascularization (iCNV) is a common complication of posterior uveitis, with reported prevalence of up to 90% in patients diagnosed with Multifocal Choroiditis (MFC).1 –4 Neovascularization represents a stereotypic, nonspecific, wound-repair response to a pathological stimulus.5,6 In iCNV, inflammation contributes to both the initial angiogenic response to retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) breakthrough and to the exudative activity of the lesion.7 (Source: American Journal of Ophthalmology)

Corneal biomechanical properties to predict prognosis of abnormal tomographic corneas: a prospective cohort study
Refractive surgery is a commonly performed surgical procedure in ophthalmology. Candidates for refractive surgery are required to undergo a preoperative ocular examination to reduce the risk of intraoperative and postoperative complications. Corneal tomography is commonly used to screen for abnormal corneal thickness and elevation to avoid postoperative ectasia.1,2 However, some patients have mild or borderline abnormal corneal tomography (ACT) that does not meet the diagnostic criteria for corneal ectasia. Longitudinal Characteristics of Choroidal Neovascular Membrane in Pediatric Patients
Choroidal neovascular membrane (CNVM) is a rare but significant cause of visual impairment in children with greater disability-adjusted life years with social and educational repercussions compared to adults.1 Etiologies of pediatric CNVM are varied and include trauma, inflammatory chorioretinal disease, pathologic myopia, angioid streaks, retinal dystrophies, choroidal tumor, and optic nerve head drusen.2 In a recent large Intelligent Research in Sight (IRIS) Registry study,3 Finn et al reported idiopathic, inflammatory chorioretinal disease, and myopia as the most common causes of pediatric CNVM.
