Therefore, this study was set to compare addiction stigma among psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, and medical students, and to test whether stigma varies according to the abused substance (alcohol, cannabinoids, heroin, and tramadol). Age and Gender Considerations for Technology-assisted Delivery of Therapy for Substance Use Disorder Treatment: A Patient Survey of Access to Electronic Devices
Conclusions: These findings suggest that patients in outpatient SUD treatment have access to resources for TAT implementation, although access was not always readily available. Future research will be needed to determine whether the technology that this population possesses will be able to support the evolving TAT modalities and whether interest in TAT across age and gender groups equalizes over time. Differential Impact of Depressive and Manic Mood States on Alcohol Craving in Comorbid Bipolar Alcoholism: Preliminary Findings
Conclusions: Whereas enhanced desire to drink alcohol may be a conditioned reaction to both manic and depressed mood states, desire not to drink alcohol may be more of an indicator of treatment motivation, which is negatively affected by depressed mood. Depressive symptoms may warrant prioritization and aggressive targeting early in treatment given that desire to refrain from alcohol use was only influenced by depressive symptoms and declined over the course of treatment.
