Prevalence of high-risk HPV and cervical dysplasia in IUD users and controls: a cross sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: Reported use of levonorgestrel intrauterine system and hormonal contraception, but not use of copper IUD, was associated with a higher prevalence of HPV infections and histological HSIL + compared to no reported use of contraception.PMID:38666336 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2340521 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Human papillomavirus infection: Epidemiology, biology, host interactions, cancer development, prevention, and therapeutics
This study aimed to carry out a literature review considering several aspects involving HPV infection: Global distribution, prevalence, biology, host interactions, cancer development, prevention, therapeutics, coinfection with other viruses, coinfection with bacteria, association with head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, and association with anal cancer.PMID:38666757 | DOI:10.1002/rmv.2537 (Source: Cancer Control)

Cell-free human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA is a sensitive biomarker for prognosis and for early detection of relapse in locally advanced cervical cancer
CONCLUSIONS: ctHPV DNA in follow-up plasma is a promising prognostic biomarker in patients with LACC, useful for analysis of response to therapy and for early detection of relapse.PMID:38669077 | DOI:10.1158/1078-0432.CCR-23-3941 (Source: Clinical Cancer Research)

Cost-effectiveness analysis of single-dose or 2-dose of bivalent, quadrivalent, or nonavalent HPV vaccine in a low/middle-income country setting
CONCLUSION: Oping for 2 doses of 9vHPV vaccine in conjunction with a primary HPV screening represents the most cost-effective option for implementing a school-based HPV vaccination program targeting 12-year-old girls in Thailand. Such findings provide valuable insights for policymakers in the realm of cervical cancer prevention.PMID:38670561 | DOI:10.3802/jgo.2024.35.e85 (Source: Journal of Gynecologic Oncology)
