The title says it all really. They almost lost me on the operating table when I had my hysterectomy and oophorectomy! It was a three year battle with the NHS to recognise the fact that I was bleeding buckets every two weeks and the pain – worse than labour pain. Was told maybe its fibroids, had scans and then was told the fibroids are too small (duh!). Not one GP (of the three who saw me) thought of referring me to a Gynae. Could grapefruit be good for your kidneys?
Scientists at Royal Holloway, University of London, have discovered that a natural product found in grapefruit can prevent kidney cysts from forming.Naringenin, which is also present in other citrus fruits, has been found to successfully block the formation of kidney cysts, an effect that occurs in polycystic kidney disease, by regulating the PKD2 protein responsible for the condition.
