Coli during her Ph.D. with Frank Stahl (Oregon) and postdoctoral work with Miroslav Radman (Paris). Since 1997, she has been on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, and working in E. Coli her lab demonstrated and elaborated molecular mechanisms of mutagenesis activated by stress responses. Single-molecule detection has opened vast avenues to investigate aspects of biological systems that are inaccessible by any other technique. Research in my lab is focused on pushing the limits of single-molecule detection methods to study biological systems with multiple components to better mimic the cellular conditions.
