The removal of total hip arthroplasty from the inpatient-only list has improved patient selection and expanded optimization efforts
This study evaluated patient demographics and comorbidities, pre-operative optimization efforts, and 30-day outcomes of patients undergoing outpatient THA pre- and post- IPO-removal. The authors hypothesized that patients undergoing THA post-IPO removal would have improved optimization of modifiable risk factors and equivalent 30-day outcomes. Abstract No. 545 Lack of Price Transparency in Radiofrequency Ablation Treatments at NCI-Designated Cancer Centers
As patients ’ health care financial burden rises, prices may be a determining factor in patients’ choice of treatment options and institution selection. As of January 1st, 2021, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires all hospitals to “establish, update, and make public a list of their standa rd charges” for all items and services. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of price transparency (PT) and the variations in price for Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) treatments, a mainstay of interventional oncology.
