Not sure.. Post Bacc or SMP
Hi Everyone, I graduated from undergrad in 2016 with a chemical engineering degree. I have taken all of the required classes but ended up with a cGPA of a 2.9 and a sGPA of a 2.7. After graduation I have worked on clinical trials and in the medical device industry. To put to rest the dream of medical school I thought I would make one last ditch effort to apply and see what happens. My current plan is to get my EMT-b and work as an ED tech and do research on clinical trials. I'm deciding... Not sure.. Post Bacc or SMP (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Wanting to do clinical work with a Ph.D
I'm currently working toward a PhD in stem cell and cancer biology. I've worked in a hospital for almost a decade, and although I absolutely adore my research, it's really setting in that I'm going to miss having patient contact. I know I can do clinical trials once I have enough experience, but is there anything more I can do with a PhD that will directly involve me with patient care? I don't want to go to medical school, but I would love to work with a team of physicians to help treat... Wanting to do clinical work with a Ph.D (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Wish I had applied to academic programs!
I only applied to community residency programs, since I thought I wanted to be a community doc and wouldn't want to do 4 years of residency. I also thought community practice would be less dependent on specialists than academic practice. Now I really miss the strong academic atmosphere I experienced in medical school. I miss working with faculty with ongoing research projects and specific academic interests, I miss having clinical trials ongoing in the department, and on the off-service... Clinical trials in private practice?
Hello, would any of you have any info on pursuing clinical trials in a private practice setting? Was briefly offered today and will be discussing more in detail with the company at a later date, but I really am clueless in terms of how it's set up and what the reimbursements are like. Any insight would be great. As a side note, I'm part of a rheumatology group. Myself and the other partners are still pending a decision whether want to take part in it or not.
