The Prevalence and Molecular Characterization of Bovine < em > Babesia < /em > Species and the First Report of < em > B. bovis < /em > from Kashmir Himalayas
CONCLUSION: Bovine Babesiosis in Kashmir is attributed to B. bovis, B. bigemina and some other Babesia spp. or strains which needs further investigation. To our knowledge, this is the first report of Babesia bovis from northern India in cattle.PMID:38654941 | PMC:PMC11033541 | DOI:10.18502/ijpa.v19i1.15211 (Source: Iranian Journal of Parasitology)

Prevalence of haemoparasites infection in diseased bovine and canine of Bhatinda district of Punjab, India
AbstractInfections caused by tick-borne haemoparasites pose a significant global threat to both human and animal health. Within this category, various haemoparasites species belonging to genera likeAnaplasma sp.,Babesia sp.,Ehrlichia sp.,Hepatozoon sp., andTheileria sp., are particularly concerning due to their ability to cause diseases in a wide range of hosts, including mammals, birds, and reptiles. The present cross-sectional study involving 580 animals provides annual insights into the prevalence of major haemoparasites infections in the Bathinda region of Punjab. The observed trends indicate that haemoparasites infect...

Occurrence of < em > Dermacentor reticulatus < /em > in  central-southern Poland, and potential threats to human and animal health
CONCLUSIONS: The results expand the available data on the spread of the ornate dog tick and indicate that, since 2010, this tick species and Rickettsia raoultii transmitted by this tick species have probably been present in this area, which has a strongly transformed agricultural structure and and had previously been regarded as a D. reticulatus-free zone. The presence of the ornate dog tick in urban and suburban habitats in central-southern Poland poses new threats to the health of companion animals and humans associated with the transmission of pathogens by this species.PMID:38549474 | DOI:10.26444/aaem/178401 (Source: A...
