How will this IA affect my chances?
I'm probably getting a minor disciplinary action for alcohol. This disciplinary action is basically wiped the moment I graduate so I have no idea if I should even report it--how would med schools even be able to learn about it? But I’ve looked through SDN and it seems like underage drinking by itself means literally nothing to med schools. However, I feel like my case might be different as my violation is hosting a recruitment event with alcohol for an organization. I know this sounds... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Relationship issues with fianc é in residency
I have been with my fiancé for 6 years. He’s in his second year of gen surgery residency. I moved with him a couple of months ago and found out he has cheated not only once but throughout the whole relationship with different women. He blames it on the stress his career has caused him. Not only that but he has issues with alcohol and drugs. I left him. And now he makes me feel guilty. He says he needs me more than ever and that we need to work through this. But he needs professional help and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Work versus Continuing School
Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is doing well during the pandemic. I am currently enrolled in a general psychology program and have been thinking about my next steps since I graduate in a year. Here are the options: 1) Start the process to become a certified drug and alcohol counselor to get some experience (and start to pay off debt/save money) before moving to a MSW or PsyD program 2) Apply to MSW programs immediately after graduating 3) Apply to PsyD programs immediately after... Advice on this Alcohol IA Write-up?
Just looking for some thoughts on how this IA explanation reads. Anything I should add, take out, or change? "In September 2018, I was charged with a complicity and an alcohol policy violation. For the complicity, I was in a room in my dorm where people were drinking, and everyone ended up getting written up. Though I was not drinking, I violated the complicity policy by not leaving the room. As a result, I attended community programming meetings and was reminded that there are ways to meet...
