Need Input on how to Address some IAs
So, I have a decently solid application but there is one big problem. I have 3 IAs. Things get interesting at #3. 1) for alcohol and fire safety in the dorms. That one is pretty annoying because the fire safety part was that my roommate had a hotplate that he refused to stop using. The alcohol part was a vase of flowers that was a jack bottle, I had gotten it for valentine's day. But here are the big ones. 2) Classroom disruption - Made one of my friends laugh repeatedly in class.... Need Input on how to Address some IAs (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Doctors with felonies
I've been a frequent visitor here at SDN and have read over many inspiring as well as downright negative responses to threads where the individual has a criminal history. So I am curious to see what the community would think my chances are of getting into medical school. Even more so, what are my chances of getting into a hospital for rotations and then residency? My background is a troubled family with mother taking siblings away, father turning to alcohol, and me trying to figure this all... Doctors with felonies (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What if your reasons for medical school are financial reward and bringing a good image to family?
I just had a friend send me his personal statement and I found his motivation for medicine very inspiring and heartwarming. A family member died of cancer and another suffered from alcoholism, and that inspired him to do research, etc. However, I have not gone through the same experiences he has had. Rather, my motivation is a combination of financial incentives, family pressure, and the reward/ pride of having an MD attached to my name. How do I craft a personal statement if these are my... How much will this hurt me?
So going through that AMCAS and seeing the IA portion, I remembered that I revieved an IA for alcohol possession in the dorms my freshman year. I have a 4.0, 520, and good ECs otherwise. How bad will this hurt my app cycle? Should I be applying to more schools because of this IA? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Bad Institutional Action
So my freshman year I did some stupid things. I had an alcohol violation, as well as a theft violation from one of the dining halls on campus. Not making excuses, but a parent was going through bankruptcy and borrowed money from me. I didn't have enough myself and I was going hungry. Stupid decision, and since then I have learned to budget and put away extra cash, and generally feel ashamed of it. I just graduated, am taking a gap year and applying to matriculate in 2018, so I have put... Bad Institutional Action (Source: Student Doctor Network)
