Impact of a combination of component separation technique and shoelace repair on big medline abdominal wall defect closure
CONCLUSION: This technique is effective in restoring the integrity of the abdominal wall in large midline abdominal wall defects and has an acceptable aesthetic appearance. In our study, minimal complications were reported, and no cases of recurrent hernias were diagnosed during follow-up.PMID:36641271 | DOI:10.1016/j.asjsur.2022.12.157 (Source: Asian Journal of Surgery)

Retrospective Analysis of Predictive Factors for Complications in Abdominoplasty in Massive Weight Loss Patients
ConclusionOur findings encourage us to continue associating rectus sheath plication, liposuction, and other body contouring surgeries with abdominoplasty. We emphasize the importance of proper patient selection, particularly with regard to anemia, before body contouring surgery in the interests of offering safe surgery and satisfactory results. Further studies are needed to investigate how the optimal BMI cut-off and abstinence from smoking (in terms of time) before surgery reduce postoperative complications.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. The Effect of Drains and Compressive Garments Versus Progressive Tensioning Sutures on Seroma Formation in Abdominoplasty
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of progressive tension sutures in reducing the incidence of seroma formation following abdominoplasty, particularly when large excision weights are involved. The addition of small volume liposuction distant to the abdominal flap does not increase the incidence of seroma formation.Level of Evidence III This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Sichere Diagnostik der Implantatrotation im hochaufl ösenden Ultraschall in Abhängigkeit vom Implantathersteller
Handchir Mikrochir Plast Chir. 2022 Nov;54(6):495-500. doi: 10.1055/a-1957-6616. Epub 2022 Dec 13.ABSTRACTRotation of an anatomical breast implant may require revisional surgery. High-resolution ultrasound can help determine the exact implant alignment. However, the directional markings of anatomical implants are implemented very inconsistently by manufacturers. Therefore, a definite diagnosis is often not possible without precise knowledge of the expected imaging. The aim of this work is a differentiation of the imaging of common implant brands in high-resolution ultrasound. Methods To simulate an authentic imaging, anato...
