The concept of bank tissue applied to post bariatric abdominoplasty: the use of autologous dermal mesh for abdominal diastasis repair
Diastasis recti abdominis muscles (DRAM) is a condition characterized by an abnormal widening of the gap between the rectus abdominis muscles along the linea alba. Current DRAM treatment options include simple suture plication of the muscles and the use of meshes. aDRAM recurrence rate varies widely across literature, with some reviews reporting large discrepancy from 0% to 40% recurrence rate.1 The aim of this study is to evaluate the outcome of DRAM treatment in post- bariatric patients, with the use of a dermal autologous graft used in place of synthetic or biological meshes.
