Importance of sac regression after EVAR and the role of EndoAnchors
J Cardiovasc Surg (Torino). 2024 Mar 29. doi: 10.23736/S0021-9509.24.12992-8. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe initial success and widespread adoption of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms have been tempered by numerous reports of secondary interventions and increased long-term mortality compared with open repair. Over the past decade, several studies on postoperative sac dynamics after EVAR have suggested that the presence of sac regression is a benign feature with a favorable prognosis. Conversely, increasing sacs and even stable sacs can be indicators of more unstable sa...

The impact of endovascular stents types on perioperative outcomes of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms: a single-center experience
CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that the management of intraoperative complications may be a modifiable factor that can improve outcomes. Patients receiving Excluder treatment demonstrated better performance in EVAR for single-center rAAA patients compared to other endovascular stents, and this difference warrants further investigation.PMID:38545342 | PMC:PMC10965618 | DOI:10.3389/fcvm.2024.1272389 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Co-prevalence of arterial aneurysm location - a correlation analysis based on a retrospective cross-sectional observational study
Conclusions: In our study sample, aneurysm co-prevalence was highly non-random. This should be considered in the context of aneurysm screening programs.PMID:38546297 | DOI:10.1024/0301-1526/a001121 (Source: VASA. Zeitschrift fur Gefasskrankheiten. Journal for Vascular Diseases)

Systematic Review Examining the Association of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor and Angiotensin Receptor Blocker Prescription with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Growth and Events
CONCLUSION: There was no association between ACEi or ARB prescription and AAA growth, but ACEi prescription was associated with a reduced risk of AAA rupture and AAA related events with very low certainty of evidence.PMID:38537880 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2024.03.034 (Source: PubMed: Eur J Vasc Endovasc ...)
