Transcatheter mitral valve repair in patients with CKD
Nature Reviews Nephrology, Published online: 06 May 2022; doi:10.1038/s41581-022-00583-yA post hoc analysis of the COAPT trial suggests that transcatheter mitral valve repair for secondary mitral regurgitation is efficacious in patients with heart failure and chronic kidney disease. The intervention also reduced the risk of kidney failure, raising hypotheses regarding the mechanisms that link heart failure and loss of kidney function.
