Conclusion
Appendicular MRIs comprised 9.6% of MRIs ordered. Appendicular MRI elucidates both neoplastic and nonneoplastic causes of pain. Most examinations with MRI positive for myeloma had subsequent skeletal disease and resulted in altered management.
