Introduction and objectives: Uncoupling protein-3 (UCP3) is localized in the mitochondrial inner membrane. The involvement of UCP3 in metabolic homeostasis is progressively emerging, however if and how it regulates visceral gonadic adipose tissue (gWAT) functionality is not known.
