TNM 8 staging is a better prognosticator than TNM 7 for patients with locally advanced oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma treated with surgery and post-operative radiotherapy

Oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) is a challenging disease to manage, with recurrence rates higher than for other head and neck cancers (1, 2). Locally advanced OCSCC is conventionally treated by primary surgery and post-operative radiotherapy (PORT) with the addition of concurrent chemotherapy for high risk cases.
