Role and impact of chronic cough in obese individuals from the general population
In conclusion, the risk of chronic cough increased with increasing level of obesity in the general population. Among obese individuals, those with chronic cough had more severe disease in terms of more respiratory symptoms, increased systemic inflammation, and more gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and diabetes.
