Molecular Identification of Aspergillus Fumigatus Complex from Lung Transplant Recipients Using Multi Locus Sequencing Analysis (MLSA)

Aspergillus fumigatus is responsible for Invasive aspergillosis (IA). The role of other closely related species such as Aspergillus lentulus and Aspergillus viridinutans which are members of the section Fumigati (A. fumigatus complex) in the setting of pre-emptive therapy in lung transplant recipients is not well defined, and may be associated with poor clinical response.
