SAbR as an Alternative Boost Modality for Cervical Cancer: A Cautionary Exercise
Mrs. LS is a 42-year-old Hispanic woman who works as a housekeeper for a hotel. The money she makes goes to help support her family in Guatemala, and she lives with 3 other female housekeepers in a 1-bedroom apartment downtown. She does not receive regular medical care and presented to the emergency department due to pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding. She received a diagnosis of stage IIIB cervical cancer and can receive treatment because she is eligible for insurance coverage through the California Breast and Cervical treatment program.
