Abstract
Precise epidemiology data on cutaneous Squamous-Cell Carcinoma (cSCC) are difficult to obtain since: the tumour is not included in many cancer registries; when included, only the first tumour is usually registered, in spite of frequent occurrence of subsequent lesions; the tumour's traceability may be incomplete due to usual management in the outpatient or private setting. A systematic review reported that the incidence of cSCC varies widely worldwide and is on the rise(1). Consequently, cSCC is an emergent public health problem, with costs ranging from £33 to £46 million each year(2).
