Molecular targeted therapy of glioblastoma
Glioblastoma is an intrinsic brain tumor that may occur at any age and is thought to originate by genetic alterations affecting neuroglial stem or progenitor cells [1]. Incidence increases steadily with age. Median age at diagnosis is in the range of 65 years, and males are approximately 1.7-fold more often affected than females. Young age and good performance status are therapy-independent positive prognostic factors (See Figs. 1 and 2).
