NIH 2013 Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Observance "Building Leadership: Embracing Cultural Values and Inclusion" Speaker: Yingzi Yang, Ph.D., Head, Development Genetics Section, National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH Please join us for the NIH 2013 Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Observance Program. This year’s national theme is "Building Leadership: Embracing Cultural Values and Inclusion." The theme provides an opportunity for the NIH community to celebrate the achievements of Asian American and Pacific Islanders, their roles in science and research. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Yingzi Yang, an internationally-recognized molecular biologist who has performed groundbreaking research on skeletal development of vertebrate animals. Dr. Yingzi Yang presentation is entitled “Cell Signaling in Skeletal Development and Disease.” Other NIH program participants include Lawrence Tabak, D.D.S., Ph.D., Deputy Director, NIH, Paul Liu, M.D., Ph.D., Deputy Scientific Director, National Human Genome Research Institute, Zoe Huang, M.D., Scientific Review Officer, National Library of Medicine and Debra Chew, Esq., Director, Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management.
