Derek Denny-Brown Neurological Scholar Award The Derek Denny-Brown Young Neurological Scholar Award recognizes early- to mid-career neurologists and neuroscientists who have made outstanding basic and clinical scientific advances toward the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of neurological diseases. ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES Eligible candidates are those who have applied for, and been approved for, new membership to the American Neurological Association (ANA) between September 26, 2014 and April 15, 2015.  The Membership Committee, together with the President, will then select the two awardees, one in Basic Science and one in Clinical Science. Each awardee—Basic Science and Clinical Science—will present a paper at the ANA’s annual meeting. The ANA will also award a prize of $1,000 to each awardee. PLEASE PROVIDE Complete nominations must include the following: • Nomination form, signed by the Neurology Department Chair • Nomination letter from Chair, Program Director, or Education Chair (max 3 pgs) • Details to include: Type of research | Number of first-authored peer-reviewed publications | Outline major contributions to the field of study • Nominee’s CV and bibliography • Research description: a summation of the nominee’s research (max 3 pgs) • 3 Abstracts reflecting the substance of research achievement Submit completed nomination packets via email by Apri...
