Variants in COL6A3 gene influence susceptibility to esophageal cancer in the Chinese population
Esophageal cancer (EC) is considered a most common gastrointestinal malignant cancer in our world (1). It has a highly morbidity and mortality, more than 450,000 new cases of EC were diagnosed, and about 400,000 patients were died in each year (2). According to histological type, EC was classified two different forms, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) (3). Several reports revealed that ESCC is the main histological subtype of EC in developing countries (4).
