Medicinally Important Herbal Flowers in Sri Lanka.

Conclusion: It was revealed that there are many flowers with valuable therapeutic effects. Traditional medicine systems prevailing in Sri Lanka have made use of these flowers with therapeutic effects to cure so many diseases. The review of medicinally important herbal flowers provides knowledge and pharmacological leads which will help for the wellbeing of the human beings. Although there are phytochemical studies done to identify the chemical compounds on some flowers, chemical composition of many flowers remains unrevealed. So further studies need to be done to identify the chemical composition of these flowers. PMID: 31263504 [PubMed]

Authors: Martin UJ, Fuhr R, Forte P, Barker P, Axley MJ, Aurivillius M, Yan L, Roskos L Abstract Objective: We compared the pharmacokinetic exposure following a single subcutaneous dose of benralizumab 30 mg using either autoinjectors (AI) or accessorized prefilled syringes (APFS). APFS and AI functionality and reliability for at-home benralizumab delivery have been demonstrated in the GREGALE and GRECO studies, respectively. Methods: In the open-label AMES study (NCT02968914), 180 healthy adult men and women were randomized to one of two device (AI or APFS) and three injection site (upper arm, abdomen, or t...

This study investigated the effect of different organic solvents, temperatures and pH levels for dye extraction from Areca catechu. The optimum conditions for the maximum yield of extracted natural dye were further determined using D-optimal design. The extracted dye at optimum conditions was used together with TiO2 as photosensitiser and the performance of dye-sensitised solar cell (DSSC) was further investigated. Analysis of variance ANOVA results showed that all factors significantly affect dye extraction. The optimum conditions of dye extraction were at 80 ˚C, pH 10 and ethanol as extraction solvent. The validation ex...
