Interval decline in hemoglobin A is associated with annual clinical event rate in sickle cell anemia patients receiving maintenance apheresis RBC exchange.

CONCLUSIONS: Patients exhibiting greater daily HbA decrement were more likely to have multiple emergency department visits or admissions for sickling crises.
