Trigger Warnings Found to Be Virtually Worthless and Possibly Harmful: New research published in Clinical Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science, reports “Trigger warnings that alert people to potentially sensitive content are increasingly popular, especially on college campuses, but research suggests that they have minimal impact on how people actually respond to content.” According to lead author Mevagh Sanson, while trigger warnings are “well intended,” they’re typically “not helpful” and can even be harmful.
