American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology Research in Vascular Access Research Grant GOALS: To encourage and stimulate research in the broad field of dialysis vascular access To provide funding to both young investigators (either fellows or those within 7 years of the end of training) and more established investigators in this field To facilitate future larger research proposals built off the preliminary results from the "ASDIN Research in Vascular Access” program AREAS OF INTEREST: Vascular biology as it relates to dialysis vascular access Epidemiology and demographics of dialysis vascular access Process of care paradigms in dialysis vascular access Prevention and treatment of infections Prevention and treatment of dialysis access stenosis Device development Identification of clinical trial end points Patient safety in dialysis vascular access Quality improvement in dialysis vascular access Peritoneal dialysis catheter placement Other topics of interest in the broad area of hemodialysis vascular access and peritoneal dialysis access FUNDING DETAILS: $25,000 over a one year period No indirect costs allowed Funds can be used for staff and coordinator support, supplies, consultant input (statistical support for example) etc. but not for salary support of the PI An additional second year of funding in the same amount can be requested.
