Association Between a Healthy Lifestyle Score and the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in the SUN Cohort

ConclusionsA HLS score including several simple healthy habits was associated with a lower risk of developing primary CVD. This index may be useful to reinforce CVD prevention without the need to include traditional risk factors.

Germà LluchAbstractRecent epidemiological studies have shown that alcohol consumption can increase the risk of arterial hypertension, atrial fibrillation and gastrointestinal and breast cancer. Various sectors are therefore promoting abstinence from alcohol. However, light alcohol consumption has once again been shown to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and diabetes but with an unclear effect on cerebrovascular disease. The decision to consume alcohol should therefore be ...

Despite a relatively low incidence (10th among cancers), it is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in most developed countries. Improving early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and strengthening the standardised comprehensive treatment remain the main focus of pancreatic cancer research. Tumor markers are usually tumor-associated proteins of clinical relevance in these patients. Although tumo...

Conclusions/Importance: Anti-MJ messages designed to discourage use might heighten reactance and inadvertently lead to greater craving and intent to use. The link between reactance and craving may be more affectively mediated than the link between reactance and message rejection. PMID: 31418607 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: High screen time was the most prevalent lifestyle risk behavior independently associated with depressive symptoms. Multiple lifestyle changes and improvement of appearance satisfaction should be included in measures targeting adolescents for the prevention and treatment of depressive symptoms. Future studies should elaborate on the gender differences in other adolescent age groups. Appearance satisfaction should be acknowledged as an important confounder in future studies of lifestyle and depressive symptoms. PMID: 31419392 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

A meta-material element—multiple split ring resonator (MSRR) is used to improve the sensitivity of the sensor. Therefore, the sensor is based on micro-strip technology and consists of a micro-strip and a MSRR. It is observed that the strongest electric field of the sensor can achieve to 105V/m. So the sensor is very sensitive to capture changes of dielectric signals. ...

Similarly, individuals suffering from these disorders have a higher risk of developing alcoholism. Several reports have implicated orexin signaling in different behaviors related to alcohol consumption, whereas antagonists block these actions. However, the involvement of orexin-1-receptor (Orx1R) in ethanol-induced anxiolysis remains relatively unexplored. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether intra-accumbal inhibition...
