Pigeon breeders disease as hypersensitivity pneumonia
Conclusion: HSP should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients who present with respiratory distress, cough, fever and weight loss. Detailed contact history should be asked. Precipitant antibody positivity may not be present in every patient. Radiological diagnosis may be helpful. Not only prolonged exposure but also close contact may worsen clinical symptoms. Only exposure prevention is enough in most cases while steroid therapy, oxygen support and intensive care monitoring may be required in severe cases.
