4.4 Environments, Epigenes, Brains, and Behavior

The goal of this session is to review articles chosen by the Lifelong Learning Committee addressing current concepts and understanding on topical areas of brain development, health promotion and illness prevention, and genetic testing approaches. These articles focus on the following: 1) the relationship between brain development and health and illness during the transitional ages (ages 14 –25 years); 2) DREAMers (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) living in this country and the cultural and clinical implications; 3) novel approaches to prevention and intervention in preschool-aged children; and 4) an update of the use of genetic testing for both diagnosis and medic ation choice in our field.
