Staphylococcus aureus is an important pathogen responsible for infectious syndromes including: skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, pneumonia, and bloodstream infections1. Numerous studies have demonstrated a decreased risk of relapse and lower overall mortality associated with the use of targeted beta-lactam therapy over vancomycin, in the treatment of methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) infections2,3.
