Elongation Factor-2 Kinase (eEF-2K) Expression Is Associated with Poor Patient Survival and Promotes Proliferation, Invasion and Tumor Growth of Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death both in USA and accounts for 1.8 million new cases (13.0% of the all cancers) cases each year in worldwide [1,2]. Epithelial lung cancer is classified into two main groups: small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NSCLC is the most common subtype of lung cancer and accounts for more than 80% of the total lung cancer occurrence [3]. NSCLC comprises squamous-cell carcinoma (SCC), adenocarcinoma (ADC), and large-cell lung cancer (LCC) [4].
