Should antiviral monotherapy with nucleotide analogs be the primary treatment option for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis-related nephrotic syndrome in chronic hepatitis B infection?

We describe a case of nephrotic syndrome due to secondary tip variant FSGS in a patient with chronic HBV infection who went into complete remission with antiviral therapy alone and present an argument for the use of oral antiviral agents as the primary treatment option for FSGS-related nephrotic syndrome in chronic HBV-infected patients without progressive liver disease.
