A Multidisciplinary Protocol-Driven Approach to Improve Extubation Times Following Cardiac Surgery.

CONCLUSIONS: The institution of a bedside provider-directed FTE pathway reduced overall intubation times and increased the rate of early extubation, without an increase in reintubation or mortality.
