Anterior cingulate activation to implicit threat before and after treatment for pediatric anxiety disorders
Conclusions Effective treatments for pediatric anxiety may enhance rostral ACC response during attempts to filter out threat-relevant stimuli. These findings highlight rostral ACC activity during implicit emotion processing as a possible mechanism of CBT and SSRI treatment change among youth with anxiety disorders.
