Validation of the V ‐RESOLVE (Visual Estimation for Risk prEdiction of Side Branch OccLusion in Coronary Bifurcation interVEntion) score system
ConclusionsThe V‐RESOLVE score system is a useful tool to help risk prediction for SB occlusion and decision‐making in bifurcation intervention.
CONCLUSION: We found no significant association between retinal vascular density on OCT-A and hemodynamic variables in the acute phase of a myocardial infarction or after 3 months of cardiac rehabilitation. Therefore, OCT-A findings do not seem to be influenced by the hemodynamic changes associated with myocardial infarction. PMID: 31973975 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSION: As reimbursement for emergency medicine in Germany was recently rearranged, quality benchmarking has gained incremental importance. Mandatory joint quality measurement in both concepts ensuring gap analysis and process improvement is encouraged. PMID: 31970463 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
ConclusionIn a contemporary all-comers South-East Asian registry with high rate of diabetes mellitus, AES was found to be efficacious with a low incidence of MACE observed at 12-month follow-up.
We report the case of a 33-year-old woman with no history of coronary risk factors or chest pain who experienced intermittent chest pain at rest for several minutes from 2 PM. At 8 AM the next day, chest pain recurred and persisted for about 1 hour. She was transported to our hospital by ambulance, where electrocardiogram showed ST-elevation in the precordial leads, and blood tests showed elevation of cardiac markers. She was diagnosed with ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Because she was a young woman without any risk factors, coronary spastic angina was suspected. Coronary angiography without intracoronary nitrate adm...
Abstract Patients undergoing coronary angiography after myocardial infarction (MI) often develop cardiac and renal dysfunction. We hypothesized that the apolipoprotein A-I mimetic peptide 4F (hereafter, 4F) would prevent those complications. Male Wistar rats were fed a high-cholesterol diet for 8 days. The rats were then anesthetized with isoflurane and randomly divided into five groups a control group (sham-operated rats); and four groups of rats induced to MI by left coronary artery ligation, the rats in three of those groups being injected, 6 h later, with the nonionic contrast agent iopamidol, 4F, and iopamido...
Abstract BACKGROUND: The platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) has recently emerged as a potential inflammatory biomarker and has been shown to be significantly associated with atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD). Therefore, we aimed to explore the association of PLR with in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) and the severity of CAD assessed by the Gensini score (GS) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) undergoing coronary angiography. METHODS: A total of 502 patients with AMI consecutively treated at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University (Qingdao, China) and und...
CONCLUSION: The present study suggests that Pd/Pa provides at least equivalent prognostic value compared with FFR. When Pd/Pa disagreed with FFR, the baseline index conferred superior prognostic value in this study population. PMID: 31965471 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSIONS: OFR had an excellent agreement with FFR in consecutive patients with coronary artery disease. OFR was superior than QFR, and much better than conventional morphological parameters in determining physiological significance of coronary stenosis. The diagnostic performance of OFR was not influenced by presence of prior myocardial infarction or implanted stents. PMID: 31951207 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSIONS: Age and female gender are associated with lower CFR, and age with worse CFC in an angiographically non-obstructed coronary artery. CFC seems to be less sensitive to variations in clinical and hemodynamic parameters than CFR, and therefore is a promising tool in contemporary clinical decision making in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. CONCLUSIONS: Short-term survival for patients with STEMI and OHCA undergoing emergent coronary angiography and revascularization with TTM in this contemporary, multicenter registry was high and neurologic outcome was good in more than half of patients.
