MUSC leads research on potential research treatment
(Medical University of South Carolina) A five-year, $3.8 million grant from the Lupus Foundation of America funds phase 2 of a clinical trial evaluating a treatment using mesenchymal stem cells harvested from donated umbilical cords in patients with lupus resistant to treatment.
