Letter to editor regarding “improvement of psychiatric symptoms in youth following resolution of sinusitis”
We read with a great interest the recent paper by Mahoni T et al., regarding the potential relationship between the occurrence of sinusitis and the development of neuropsychiatric symptoms in children. In this retrospective study, the authors reviewed 150 patients (aged 6 –17 years) referred to the multidisciplinary Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) clinic in a 5-year period and, interestingly, they noticed that 47% (n = 70) had presented sinus diseases in their medical records.
