Urinary tract lymphoepithelial carcinoma. Report of two cases and bibliographic review.
CONCLUSIONS: We emphasize the clinical importance involved in the diagnosis of this entity. The diagnosis influence the aggressiveness of treatment and disease-specific survival. Therefore, concomitant transitional cell carcinoma defines the prognosis. The role of immunohistochemical staining is fundamental, allowing us to confirm the presence of the epithelial component. Objective The aim of the study was to determine the relationships between functional outcomes, clinical symptoms, and health-related quality of life among patients with malignant brain tumors receiving interdisciplinary outpatient rehabilitation. Design A prospective study of 49 adults with malignant brain tumors participating in outpatient therapies was performed. Outcome measures included the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Brain (FACT-Br) for health-related quality of life and the Patient-Reported Outcome Measures Instrument Survey (PROMIS) Depression and Pain Behavior scales measured at admission, discharg...
Fat necrosis of the breast is a common benign entity with imaging features and clinical findings that can mimic breast cancer, requiring biopsy for diagnosis.1 Fat necrosis initially was described in 1920 as the result of blunt trauma to the breast. With the growing number of reduction mammoplasty procedures, radiation therapy, breast conserving procedures, and reconstructive surgical procedures, fat necrosis now is encountered frequently in daily radiology practice.1 Fat necrosis has widely varied presentations on breast imaging during its many stages of evolution.1 Hence, it is important for radiologists to be familiar w...
The Radiology Society of North America will introduce machine learning labs at this year ’s meeting as an effort to increase exposure of the technology throughout the field. “No question — machine learning will change the way radiologists practice in the years ahead, sometimes dramatically. But there is much work to be done before ML becomes common place,”said Curtis Langlotz, MD, PhD, the RSNA board liaison for information technology and annual meeting. Machine learning could help streamline data processing for large image datasets. Institutions like Stanford University are working toward impl...
New Opportunities to Improve Outcomes in Locally Advanced, Unresectable Lung Cancer: Integrating Immunotherapy Into a Multimodal Treatment Approach
(Reuters Health) - Many women who follow initial breast cancer treatment with five years of hormone therapy to keep tumors at bay may still experience new malignancies up to two decades after their diagnosis, a study suggests.
In conclusion, we demonstrate that MYBL1 rearrangements and MYB amplification likely constitute alternative genetic drivers of breast AdCCs, functioning through MYBL1 or MYB overexpression. These observations emphasize that breast AdCCs likely constitute a convergent phenotype, whereby activation of MYB/MYBL1 and their downstream targets can be driven by the MYB‐NFIB fusion gene, MYBL1 rearrangements, MYB amplification or other yet to be identified mechanisms.

Conclusion: Collaboration in a European network to optimize treatment and minimize long-term consequences for paediatric thyroid cancer survivors is necessary. During this meeting, the ETA-CRN has endorsed the initiative to collaborate on this rare endocrine cancer within a European network.Horm Res Paediatr
ConclusionThis is the first study to show the correlation of the presence of SSTR1, detected by monoclonal immunohistochemical techniques, and better response to initial treatment and possibly better long-term clinical response in patients with MTC. In addition, these patients had low positivity rates for SSTR2, which might explain the low sensitivity of diagnostic and limited therapeutic response to octrotide based radioisotopes.
