Severe hypomagnesemia can precipitate digoxin induced cardiac arrhythmia with normal serum digoxin and potassium levels and respond to correction of hypomagnesemia. Important drugs which can increase the levels of digoxin are quinidine, verapamil, amiodarone and dronedarone.
