The metabolic syndrome is associated with different clinical outcome after the cardiac resynchronization therapy in patients with ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.

CONCLUSIONS: Presence of metabolic syndrome differentiates the response to cardiac resynchronization therapy in obese patients with ischemic and non-ischemic etiology for heart failure.
