Respiratory syncytial virus - more chimera than chimpanzee?

Respiratory syncytial virus - more chimera than chimpanzee? Curr Med Res Opin. 2016 Feb 23;:1-11 Authors: Thorburn K Abstract Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the single most important virus causing acute respiratory tract infections and the most common viral respiratory cause of death in young children and especially in infants less than 1 year old throughout the world. RSV bronchiolitis usually occurs in predictable annual seasons/epidemics, varying by climatic and geographic region, that globally generate surges in hospitalizations/hospital admission rates which often strain health care capacity. Not all babies are born equal - those with comorbidity are at increased risk for severe RSV disease and death. PMID: 26906878 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
