Call for Applications: Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation ‘A’ Awards Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) evolved from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) into a national fundraising movement to raise awareness and find cures for all childhood cancers. The ‘A’ Award is a three-year grant designed for the early career scientist who wants to establish their career in pediatric oncology research. The ideal applicant has an original project that is not currently being funded. Demonstration of outstanding mentorship and a future commitment to pediatric cancer investigation are critical components of a successful application. Institutional commitment to the career of the applicant is also expected. All applications must be received by May 23, 2014 - 11:59 PM ET. This award totals $450,000 over three years and is open to MD, MD/PhD and PhD candidates. ‘A’ Award Program Goals To encourage the best and brightest early career researchers to build lifelong careers and become leaders in the field of pediatric cancer research.
