Role of Tmcs with Impella as Bridge to LVAD After AMI Related Cardiogenic Shock
Purpose: Implantation of durable left ventricular assist device (LVAD) in cardiogenic shock (CS) patients after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) presents specific challenges (small left ventricular size, acute infarct area, antithrombotic therapy, status INTERMACS 1 with impaired organ function and derangements in coagulation and inflammatory parameters.). The aim of this study was to analyzed feasibility, timing and outcomes of durable LVAD implantation after tMCS with Impella due to AMI CS.
