Orthotopic Heart Transplantation Complicated by Chylopericardium: Management and Intervention
Introduction: Chylopericardium, an uncommon complication of orthotopic heart transplant (OHT), is defined by the pericardial sac's accumulation of lymph and emulsified fats, presenting a distinctive milky appearance and heightened triglyceride concentrations. Untreated continuous chyle leakage can adversely influence the patient's nutritional state, metabolic balance, and immunological responses. In this case report, we highlight a unique presentation and management of chylopericardium post-OHT.
