Use of Speckle Tracking Echo to Predict Right Heart Failure Following Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Purpose: Right Heart Failure (RHF) is an important complication of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Right ventricular (RV) analysis with speckle tracking echo (STE) is a helpful measure of RV function. We performed a meta-analysis of studies examining preoperative RV strain on STE as a predictor of postoperative RHF.
